Dear Prospective TWL Members, Researchers, Affiliates, and Sponsors,
Welcome to Tufts Wireless Laboratory (TWL) website!
We have developed within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department a graduate program in Wireless Networks leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The title of TWL is new, but we have graduated many M.S. students, about four to eight degrees each year and a Ph.D. student every five years. TWL will attract more researchers to conduct innovative wireless education and research, and to connect with industry for cutting-edge applications. Hope that you will join us.
We organize research seminars from time to time and conduct a separate research group meeting every week. Outside experts from academia and industry are invited to give presentations at the seminars. In the research group meeting, students present their work and share their comments and constructive criticism. They learn research techniques and presentation skills from the meetings besides private sessions with the advisor. Many ECE faculty members are/will be involved in TWL.
The areas of wireless communications research are mainly in wireless ad hoc networks including the routing protocols, power conservation of wireless nodes and networks, localization, location management, wireless security, chip design for wireless applications, and system integration in life science applications including healthcare. Another research area that TWL is interested in is seamless secure wireless storage. Seamless secure wireless storage is an area of great interest for research as it would enable large amounts of data to be transferred wirelessly rather than by using expensive underground cable equipment. Research fields range from security and reliability of such networks to fast, bandwidth rich, faultless data transmission over longer distances. TWL will seek the involvement of major data storage companies that could potentially benefit from being able to build wireless, less expensive, and more reliable storage networks. All TWL members and researchers are encouraged to participate in expanding the TWL objective.
If you are interested in participating in TWL work as a researcher/member, as an affiliate,
